Welcome to my personal website. I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Neuroscience department at the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria.
I am particulary interested in how synaptic properties determine the function of neuronal microcircuits of functional relevance. Since most of the complex behaviour of neural networks depend on its synaptic design, my research relies on synaptic properties that can be obtained with functional methods (like path-clamp technique and fluorescence live imaging) together with theoretical/computational approaches.
I collaborate in the GNU/Linux branch development of an open source programm for the analysis of electrophysiological signals based on C/C++ and Python (Stimfit, see in www.stimfit.org). Additionally, I contribute to the development of an open source mathematics computer environment based on Python (Sage, see in www.sagemath.org ).
